BERLIN, Aug. 19 (Xinhua) -- Liverpool's Marko Grujic has joined Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin on loan, both clubs announced on Sunday.

The 22-year-old central midfielder, who received the jersey No. 15, agreed on a season long loan deal with Hertha Berlin.

"With Marko, we got exactly the type of player for the central midfield we were looking for. He is technically gifted and fits perfectly to our defensive and offensive qualities," Hertha Berlin's sporting director Michael Preetz said.

The new arrival spent the last season on loan at Cardiff City where he scored one goal in 13 appearances. In May 2016 Grujic made his international debut for Serbia's national team and made ever since eight caps.

"I am very delighted that my transfer worked out. Hertha Berlin is a big club and I have always loved the Bundesliga. I have had a few offers but no one made an effort like Berlin," Grujic said.
