SINGAPORE, Aug. 20 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed lower on Monday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) going down 0.15 percent, or 4.73 points, to close at 3,204.71.
A total of 1.28 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 859.1 million Singapore dollars (about 626.12 million U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers by 208 to 191.
The STI index closed down 0.08 percent, or 2.49 points, to close at 3,209.44 last Friday.
