KIEV, Aug. 21 (Xinhua) -- Ukraine is interested in increasing its cooperation with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the agricultural sector, the Ukrainian Agriculture Ministry said on Tuesday.

"We see significant potential in implementing bilateral projects in the agro-industrial complex, ranging from green energy and irrigation to logistics and infrastructure," Olga Trofimtseva, Ukraine's deputy agriculture minister, said in a statement.

Ukraine is also willing to boost the exports of organic products, honey, confectionery and chocolate goods, meat, vegetables and fruits to the UAE, Trofimtseva said.

In 2017, bilateral agricultural trade turnover between Ukraine and the UAE amounted to 180 million U.S. dollars, with Ukrainian exports accounting for more than 90 percent of the total trade.

Currently, Ukraine primarily supplies vegetable oils, poultry eggs and seeds to the UAE.
