PARIS, Aug. 23 (Xinhua) -- French shares lost on Thursday, with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 down 0.02 percent, or 1.28 points, to close at 5,419.33 points.
Of the 40 selected large companies, 23 lost in the day.
French automobile group Peugeot tumbled 3.21 percent, the top loser of the blue chips. French tyre manufacturer Michelin went down by 2.25 percent and French car manufacturer Renault lost 1.82 percent.
French aviation group Safran advanced 0.97 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. French multinational integrated oil and gas company Total rose 0.82 percent and French international cosmetics company L'OREAL went up by 0.63 percent. Enditem
