LA PAZ, Aug. 24 (Xinhua) -- Bolivian President Evo Morales on Friday stated that Bolivia will see out the year as the South American country with the highest rate of growth.

The president named public investment, a dynamic domestic market and high international prices of raw materials as the economy's main drivers.

"We are on the road to good GDP growth, and have international data that recognizes our development," said Morales at an inauguration event in Chuquisaca Department in the southern part of the country.

The Bolivian leader's comments came after the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) on Thursday lifted their 2018 growth forecast for Bolivia from 4 to 4.3 percent.

The United Nations agency delivered an optimistic outlook for Bolivia despite the reduction in the region's overall projected growth.

ECLAC cut Latin America and the Caribbean's 2.2 percent growth forecast in April to 1.5 percent for the year.
