BEIJING, Aug. 31 (Xinhua) -- China's top legislator Li Zhanshu on Friday met with Malian President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita ahead of the 2018 Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC).

Li, chairman of the National People's Congress (NPC) Standing Committee, said China fully understands Mali's concerns for peace and security and firmly supports its efforts to sustain security and stability. China is willing to enhance cooperation with Mali under the bilateral and FOCAC frameworks, Li added.

Keita said Mali is willing to enhance cooperation between the two countries under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative.
