NEW DELHI, Sept. 1 (Xinhua) -- At least 28 students were injured after their school bus overturned in the western Indian state of Rajasthan, police said Saturday.
The accident occurred at Bhadarej village in the state's Dausa district.
"The bus carrying some 30 school children turned turtle after its driver lost control of the speeding vehicle while negotiating a turn," a police official said.
All the 28 injured have been rushed to a nearby hospital by local residents, he added.
A probe has been ordered into the incident, the official said. "The bus driver has been booked for rash and negligent driving. He will soon be arrested," he added.
India has the highest number of road fatalities in the world. Road accidents occur mostly due to poor driving or badly maintained roads and vehicles.
