BEIJING, Sept. 2 (Xinhua) -- China's top political advisor Wang Yang on Sunday met with Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz ahead of the 2018 Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation.

Wang, chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference National Committee, said that China-Mauritania practical cooperation has entered a new phase of development in the past few years. The signing of cooperation documents on the Belt and Road construction will inject new impetus to bilateral cooperation in fields including investments and infrastructure.

Aziz said that China has become Mauritania's most important partner for development and Mauritania welcomes Chinese entrepreneurs to invest and do business in the country.
