LONDON, Sept. 3 (Xinhua) -- British stocks rose on Monday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index up by 0.97 percent, or 72.18 points, to close at 7,504.60 points.
Smurfit Kappa Group, a provider of paper-based packaging, soared 3.19 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Royal Mail and Standard Life Aberdeen increased by 3.01 percent and 2.40 percent, respectively.
United Utilities Group, a British water company, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 1.97 percent. TUI AG, a British leisure travel group, dropped 1.51 percent. Severn Trent, another water company, fell 1.50 percent. Enditem
