Armenian PM meets OSCE secretary general

YEREVAN, Sept. 4 (Xinhua) -- Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with Thomas Greminger, secretary general of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), on Tuesday in Yerevan, the press office of the Armenian prime minister said in a statement.

According to the statement, the two sides highlighted the current high-level of cooperation and exchanged perspectives about the further development of ties. Pashinyan briefed Greminger on the recent developments in Armenia with regard to strengthening democracy, rule of law, fight against corruption, as well as reforms that will ensure the implementation of early parliamentary elections, the statement read.

Greminger said he welcomed the latest process in Armenia and vowed support for the reform agenda of the Armenian government.

Pashinyan and Greminger also discussed the Nagorno-Karabakh issue, with the former expressing his country's commitment to an exclusively peaceful solution to the conflict.

The OSCE Minsk Group has been making efforts for decades to mediate in the negotiations over the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
