Wuhan International Junior Football tournament kicks off

WUHAN, Sept. 5 (Xinhua) -- The Wuhan International Junior Football tournament kicked off on Tuesday, with under-14 age players from China, Japan, South Korea, the United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan, Thailand, Malaysia and Vietnam taking part.

The tournament is hosted by the Chinese Football Association, the Japanese Football Association and the Wuhan Sports Bureau.

The eight junior national teams are divided into two groups where they will compete in a round-robin format. The first two teams in the group qualify. China are drawn in Group B with South Korea, UAE and Malaysia.

In the first round, China's conceded a goal against the UAE but were able to win 2-1 after goals from He Xiaoke and Cui Xinglong. South Korea also won 2-1 against Malaysia, Japan beat Uzbekistan 4-0 and Thailand beat Vietnam.
