LONDON, Sept. 7 (Xinhua) -- British stocks decreased on Friday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index down by 0.56 percent, or 41.26 points, to close at 7,277.70 points.
Smith & Nephew, a British multinational medical equipment manufacturing company, soared 2.18 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Sage Group and WPP increased by 2.00 percent and 1.79 percent, respectively.
Antofagasta ,a copper mining group, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 4.15 percent. Fresnillo, a precious metals mining company, dropped 3.36 percent. Glencore, a multinational commodity trading and mining company, fell 2.68 percent. Enditem
