TOKYO, Sept. 10 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks opened moderately higher on Monday as investors bought back issues deemed oversold following the Nikkei's six-session losing streak.
As of 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average gained 12.08 points, or 0.05 percent, from Friday to 22,319.14.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, added 1.99 points, or 0.12 percent, at 1,686.30.
Pulp and paper, pharmaceutical, and machinery-linked issues comprised those that gained the most in the opening minutes from the morning bell.
