Tokyo stocks advance in morning as Nikkei's recent fall prompts buybacks

TOKYO, Sept. 10 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks made moderate gains Monday morning as investors bought back issues following the Nikkei closing lower for six straight session and amid ongoing trade tensions.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average added 7.30 points, or 0.03 percent, from Friday to 22,314.36.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, gained 4.61 points, or 0.27 percent, at 1,688.92.

Insurance, mining, and bank-linked issues comprised those that gained the most by the morning break. Enditem
