SINGAPORE, Sept. 11 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed lower on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 0.35 percent or 11.01 points to close at 3109.91.
A total of 1.53 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 865.6 million Singapore dollars (about 628.6 million U.S. dollars). Losers outnumbered gainers by 249 to 138.
The STI index went down 0.43 percent or 13.47 points to close at 3120.92 Monday.
