WASHINGTON, Sept. 14 (Xinhua) -- Paul Manafort, U.S. President Donald Trump's former campaign chairman, will plead guilty on Friday, media outlets quoted Special Counsel Robert Mueller's office as saying.
Mueller's office has changed Manafort's criminal indictment to a plea agreement, the office spokesman Peter Carr told CNN.
Documents filed in court showed that Manafort is expected to plead guilty to a federal conspiracy charge that accused him of money laundering, tax fraud, and lying to investigators, local media said.
Manafort is due to appear at a preliminary hearing for his upcoming second trial in Washington D.C. federal court at 11:00 a.m. eastern time (1600 GMT) on Friday.
