TEHRAN, Sept. 19 (Xinhua) -- Iranian coast guards arrested five crew members of a fishing vessel in Iran's territorial waters in the Gulf, Tasnim news agency reported Wednesday.
The foreign vessel was stopped while fishing off the southern coast of Iran's Khuzestan Province on Tuesday, Abdollah Nazarpour, commander of the coast guards, was quoted as saying.
The Iranian coast guards prevented these foreigners' illegal activity in the area, Nazarpour noted.
The arrested fishermen were handed over to judicial authorities, he added, without revealing their nationality.
