TOKYO, Sept. 20 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks closed marginally higher Thursday.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average edged up 2.41 points, or 0.01 percent, from Wednesday to close the day at 23,674.93.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, rose 1.94 points, or 0.11 percent, to finish at 1,787.60.
By the close of play, consumer credit, bank, and iron and steel issues comprised those that gained the most.
