SEOUL, Sept. 20 (Xinhua) -- South Korean President Moon Jae-in returned home Thursday after a summit with top leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) Kim Jong Un.

An airplane carrying Moon and his entourage arrived at the Seongnam Airport outside the capital Seoul at about 5:40 p.m. local time (0840 GMT), a live broadcast at the Seoul press center showed.

Moon and Kim held their third summit in the DPRK's capital Pyongyang, having face-to-face talks Tuesday afternoon and a one-on-one dialogue Wednesday morning.

After the summit talks, Moon and Kim agreed to further steps for the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and concrete measures to end hostile acts near inter-Korean border areas.

Moon became the third South Korean leader who visited Pyongyang for an inter-Korean summit. The current leaders of the two Koreas held three summit meetings this year, including the ones on April 27 and May 26 respectively.

The DPRK leader promised to visit Seoul for the fourth summit with the South Korean president in the near future.
