BEIRUT, Sept. 20 (Xinhua) -- Hezbollah Leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah warned Thursday that Israel will "face an expected destiny" if it starts a new war against Lebanon.

"Israel is aware of Hezbollah's strength and it knows very well that any war that happens against Lebanon will have very bad repercussions," Nasrallah said in a televised speech on the occasion of Ashura Day.

Nasrallah said that Hezbollah owns not only advanced rockets but also soldiers who are skilled in land military operations, adding that "this is why Israel has never dared threatening to invade Lebanon since 2006."

Ashura Day takes place on the 10th day of Muharam, the first month in the Islamic lunar calendar. Shiit muslims commemorate the death of Imam Hussein, grandson of Prophet Mohammed, who was killed and buried in 680 A.D. in Karbala.
