LUSAKA, Sept. 21 (Xinhua) -- Zambian Vice-President Inonge Wina on Friday rejected reports in some international media outlets that the southern African nation is currently in an economic crisis.
"There is no crisis in the economy of Zambia. Even the World Bank has confirmed that," she said in remarks delivered in parliament during a question and answer session.
People spreading falsehood about an economic crisis in the country have ulterior motives, bent on destroying Zambia's image on the international scene, Wina said.
International organizations such as the World Bank have already reported that Zambia has no debt crisis, she said.
The country's debt issue is being used as a camouflage by some capitalist imperialists to ignite rage among citizens in order to force a regime change, Wina said.
