LISBON, Sept. 24 (Xinhua) -- Six people have confirmed dead in a road accident in Pombal, central Portugal on Monday, according to Portuguese Lusa News Agency.
The deadly accident took place around 7:00 a.m. local time when two light goods vehicles collided head on, killing all of six men on board.
Police said that a light goods vehicle entered the opposite lane on the highway and collided head on with the other and they will investigate the cause of the fatal accident.
The vehicles, according to the police, belonged to two companies, one of civil construction and the other of pavements of the municipality of Pombal.
The IC8 highway has opened to traffic six hours after the accident.
