KIEV, Sept. 25 (Xinhua) -- Heavy rains, accompanied by strong winds, have swept through Ukraine, leaving 205 cities and villages in different parts of the country without power, authorities said on Tuesday.
The thunderstorm has affected seven regions in western, central, southern and northern Ukraine, the State Emergency Service said in a statement.
Hundreds of trees have fallen as a result of the storm, causing traffic disruptions on key roads and inflicting human casualties.
Local media reported that a man was killed in the city of Borislav in western Ukraine after being hit by a falling tree branch, while a woman was injured in the port city of Odessa after a tree landed on her car.
