BEIRUT, Oct. 2 (Xinhua) -- Lebanese parliament's Committee of Foreign Affairs and Immigrants is planning a visit to the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) to discuss Israel's latest threat of attack, local media reported on Tuesday.

"The Lebanese parliament is keen on preserving the presence of UNIFIL in southern Lebanon, especially with the repeated Israeli threats and the fear of facing new attacks by Israel against our country," Yassin Jaber, head of the parliamentary committee, was quoted by Elnashra, an independent online newspaper, as saying.

Jaber made the remarks in response to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's claims that Hezbollah is keeping missiles in three different sites near Lebanon's Rafic Hariri International Airport.

The lawmaker praised the move of caretaker Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil for leading a tour on Monday by ambassadors and journalists to two of the locations claimed by Israel to contain missiles for Hezbollah.

Local media reported that Bassil rejected Netanyahu's allegations, saying Israel was seeking to "justify another aggression" with false allegation that the missile facilities belong to Hezbollah.

This prompted Netanyahu to accuse Lebanon's Hezbollah of "lying" to the international community about its holding secret missiles.

Netanyahu claimed that Bassil "took the ambassadors to the football field, but refrained from taking them to the underground missile production plant that is right next to it."

Meanwhile, Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman reiterated Tuesday that Israel is fully ready for war more than ever before.
