TUNIS, Oct. 4 (Xinhua) -- Tunisian Prime Minister Youssef Chahed confirmed on Thursday the legislative and presidential elections will be held within constitutional deadlines, set for October in 2019.

"The upcoming elections including legislative and presidential elections in 2019 will take place within constitutional deadlines, in order to be transparent and credible, similar to those held since 2011," Chahed said at the opening of Local Authority Day, held in the capital Tunis.

"We managed to organize the last municipal elections under good conditions, given the government's effort and reforms," Chahed said.

Tunisian municipal elections took place on May 6, 2018.

The civility of the state and the constitution are guarantors for the proper functioning of political system, Chahed said.
