ULAN BATOR, Oct. 5 (Xinhua) -- The Mongolian parliament on Friday appointed Yangu Sodbaatar as the new minister of road and transport development.
Ex-minister Jadamba Bat-Erdene was fired after a train with 328 passengers aboard derailed in southeastern Mongolia on Aug. 12, injuring nine passengers including three children.
Sodbaatar, a member of the ruling Mongolian People's Party, was appointed by 59 lawmakers in the 76-seat parliament.
He has served as a member of parliament since 2012.
