German shares close flat Friday

FRANKFURT, Oct. 12 (Xinhua) -- German stocks closed flat on Friday, with the benchmark DAX index down 15.54 points, or 0.13 percent, to close at 11,523.81 points.

Multinational chemical and pharmaceutical company Bayer lost 2.30 percent, the top loser among the blue chips, followed by European health care company Fresenius SE and multinational building materials company HeidelbergCement, which lost 2.15 percent and 2.06 percent respectively.

Global internet technology and financial services provider Wirecard gained 3.70 percent, becoming the top gainer. German airlines Lufthansa advanced 2.10 percent. Tire specialist Continental went up by 1.67 percent.

German multinational software corporation SAP was the most traded share with a turnover of 396.71 million euros (458.99 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
