LONDON, Oct. 16 (Xinhua) -- British stocks increased on Tuesday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index up by 0.43 percent, or 30.18 points, to close at 7,059.40 points.
Ocado Group, an online grocer, soared 5.52 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Ashtead Group and Paddy Power Betfair increased by 4.49 percent and 4.45 percent, respectively.
British American Tobacco, a tobacco group, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 4.64 percent.
