LJUBLJANA, Oct. 16 (Xinhua) -- Slovenian defense minister Karl Erjavec announced disciplinary proceedings on Tuesday against three members of the Slovenian Armed Forces who are suspected of stealing ammunition from a Slovenian army truck in Germany.

According to the Slovenian Press Agency STA, Erjavec said he had informed the parliamentary commission about the theft, which took place at the beginning of October as the truck was on its way to the Leipzig airport.

The incident was also discussed by the commission for the oversight of the Intelligence and Security Service, he said.

The minister said Slovenian police had started investigation into the theft, and that he had ordered a review of the prescribed procedures for the transport of hazardous goods.

The Slovenian Armed Forces revealed on Oct. 3 that a part of the cargo from the truck transporting ammunition for Slovenian soldiers serving a mission in Mali had been stolen.

However, both the Slovenian minister and the STA report failed to mention the response to the incident from the German side.
