BUENOS AIRES, Oct. 16 (Xinhua) -- Days after winning bronze medal in the men's gymnastics all-around competition final at the ongoing Youth Olympics, Brazil's Diogo Soares realized that his dream finally came true.
Soares, competing in his first major competition, finished third in the men's all-around competition behind gold medalist Takeru Kitazono of Japan and Sergei Naidin from Russia who won silver. It's also Brazil's first men's all-around Youth Olympic Games medal.
"The more interviews I give, the more I realize that I have won a bronze medal here," Soares, 16, said.
"My dream is not a dream anymore. It actually came true. I have done everything to win this medal.
"All the times that I have suffered so much went through my mind [during] these days. Now I don't even think about those times any more just because I have this bronze," he added.
