SINGAPORE, Oct. 22 (Xinhua) -- Singaporean stocks closed higher on Monday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) went up 0.51 percent or 15.55 points to close at 3,078.06.
A total of 1.60 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 842.1 million Singapore dollars (about 611.5 million U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers by 188 to 172.
The STI index went down 0.23 percent or 7.16 points to close at 3,062.51 last Friday.
