MOSCOW, Oct. 22 (Xinhua) -- Russia intends to send an additional 60 instructors and a second batch of military products to the Central African Republic (CAR), the Russian Foreign Ministry said Monday.

"We intend to continue to provide Bangui with necessary assistance in rebuilding the national armed forces," it said in a statement.

Responding to an appeal of CAR President Faustin-Archange Touadera, Russia, with the consent of the UN Security Council, donated a batch of small arms and ammunition to the CAR earlier this year and sent 175 instructors, according to the statement.

To date, more than 1,000 Central African troops have been trained by them, it said.

Russia seeks to use its capabilities to facilitate the negotiation process in the CAR in order to find ways out of the protracted crisis in the country, it said.
