NANCHANG, Oct. 23 (Xinhua) -- The local legislature of east China's Jiangxi Province on Tuesday elected Yi Lianhong as governor of the province.
The election was held at the second session of the 13th Jiangxi Provincial People's Congress. Yi, born in 1959, is a native of Hunan Province. He was appointed Jiangxi's vice Party chief in July and acting governor in August.
The legislature also elected Liu Qi, Jiangxi Party chief, as chairman of the Standing Committee of the 13th Jiangxi Provincial People's Congress.
