FAIZABAD, Afghanistan, Oct. 25 (Xinhua) -- Four militants have been confirmed dead and two others injured as fighting aircraft struck Taliban in Kuran-o-Munjan district of the northern Badakhshan province, an army spokesman in the northern region, Mohammad Hanif Rezai, said.
The air raids, according to the official, were conducted on Wednesday evening against Taliban militants who have engaged the security forces in parts of the troubled Kuran-o-Munjan district over the past few days.
No civilians have been harmed in the sorties, the official said.
Taliban militants who have been fighting to overrun the restive district have yet to make comments on the situation.
