DOHA, Nov. 6 (Xinhua) -- Qatar strongly condemned Bahrain's mentioning its name in Bahrain's political disputes and internal conflicts, said state-run Qatar News Agency (QNA) on Tuesday.

Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its rejection in a statement towards mentioning Qatar by Bahrain following the recent verdict on Bahraini Sheikh Ali Salman, QNA said.

On Nov. 4, Bahrain's Supreme Appeals court convicted Salman, a top opposition leader, along with two others for sharing sensitive security information with the government of Qatar and collaborating with Qatari officials to support acts of violence throughout Bahrain, according to the Bahrain's court.

Qatar also called on relevant institutions in Bahrain to deal with their local and international public opinion more seriously and responsibly.

On June 5, 2017, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Egypt cut ties with Qatar over accusations of Doha's support for Islamist extremist groups.

Qatar denies the allegations.
