SINGAPORE, Nov. 7 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed higher on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) going up 0.15 percent or 4.74 points to close at 3065.36.
A total of 1.57 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.17 billion Singapore dollars (about 851.7 million U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers by 234 to 173.
The STI index went down 1.79 percent or 55.77 points to close at 3060.62 Monday. There was no trading Tuesday which was a public holiday.
