Nicolas Mathieu awarded France's prestgious Goncourt Prize

PARIS, Nov. 7 (Xinhua) -- French writer Nicolas Mathieu on Wednesday won 2018 Goncourt literary prize with "Leurs enfants après eux" (Their Children After Them), organizers announced.

This is Mathieu's second book. In the novel, the 40-year-old writer tells the stories of a group of adolescents over the span of four summers in the 1990s.

The Goncourt Prize is France's oldest and prestigious prize in French literature, given by Goncourt Academy to the author of "the best and most imaginative prose work of the year".
