Brunei's sports associations asked to raise performance quality for athletes

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Nov. 11 (Xinhua) -- Sports associations should always try to help raise the quality of performance for their athletes, Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah, President of Brunei Darussalam National Olympic Council said.

According to local daily the Borneo Bulletin on Sunday, Haji Sufri Bolkiah said these associations must be aware of the needs of the athletes, such as exposure to competitions which is important to help improve their performance and boost their spirit, so that they can display their best in the international sporting arena.

Congratulating the participating athletes in the 3rd Summer Youth Olympic Games, Haji Sufri Bolkiah said he hoped they will make use of the valuable experience to continue working harder to train to increase their performance level in the future.

The Brunei contingent failed to obtain any medals at the 3rd Youth Olympic Games, but two swimmers broke their personal bests in their respective events.
