CHICAGO, Nov. 12 (Xinhua) -- Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) agricultural commodities closed mixed on Monday, with wheat futures surging over 3 percent, as investors turned to short-covering amid expectations of a pick-up in wheat export business.
The most active corn contract for December delivery went up 1.5 cents, or 0.41 percent to close at 3.7125 dollars per bushel. December wheat delivery rose 17.75 cents, or 3.54 percent to close at 5.1975 dollars per bushel. 2019 January soybean delivery is down 3.5 cents, or 0.39 percent to close at 8.8325 dollars per bushel.
Corn futures followed wheat higher while soybeans declined on forecasts for rising U.S. soybean inventories.
As for weather forecast for agricultural crop, a winter weather advisory is in effect for a wide patch of land stretching from central New Mexico northeast into extreme western Illinois, according to the National Weather Service.
