LOS ANGELES, Nov. 13 (Xinhua) -- Participants at the just-concluded 2018 GetGlobal Summit urged American businesses to prepare for changes that would enable them to explore overseas markets and better survive global competition.

"American businesses are losing traction overseas. Too many opportunities are slipping through our fingers right now. America needs to keep up," Julien Leuthold, founder of GetGlobal, told Xinhua.

GetGlobal 2018, held in downtown Los Angeles, is described online as the "largest summit in North America focusing on international strategy, business expansion, and key foreign market dynamics."

Drawing an animated mix of corporate executives, government trade officials, powerhouse consultants, top educators and business experts of all kinds, the summit aims to foster the ability of American businesses to succeed in exporting or expanding their businesses abroad.
