ANKARA, Nov. 14 (Xinhua) -- Turkey has sent extradition requests to 83 countries for 452 people linked to Gulen movement, Turkey's foreign minister said on Wednesday.

Speaking at the parliament, Mevlut Cavusoglu said that a total of 104 supporters of Gulen in 21 countries had been brought to Turkey.

Those Gulen-linked schools and language schools have been closed in 21 countries, Cavusoglu said, as quoted by NTV broadcaster.

According to the minister, Germany was one of the countries that are far from meeting Turkey's demands regarding alleged Gulenists.

Some 23 percent of the foreign ministry staff were dismissed over links with Gulenists, he added.

Fethullah Gulen, the U.S.-based preacher, is accused by Ankara of orchestrating a failed coup attempt on July 15, 2016. At least 251 people were killed and nearly 2,200 people were injured in the coup attempt.
