MOSCOW, Nov. 14 (Xinhua) -- The Russian Armed Forces are taking measures to protect their communications as a number of countries have increased their ability to commit cyberattacks, a Russian senior official said Wednesday.
"Currently, a number of foreign countries are developing their information technology ... for military purposes," Yuri Kuznetsov, head of Russian Service for Protection of State Secrets, told the Krasnaya Zvezda (Red Star) newspaper.
He noted that considering new threats to information security, the Service is currently working on ensuring the security of information within the Russian Defense Ministry.
Work is also underway to detect, prevent and eliminate cyberattacks against the Russian Armed Forces, added Kuznetsov.
