ULAN BATOR, Nov. 15 (Xinhua) -- The ruling Mongolian People's Party (MPP) elected Dulamdorj Togtokhsuren as leader of its parliamentary faction here Thursday.

"First of all, I will pay special attention to strengthening the unity of parliamentary faction members," Togtokhsuren told reporters after the faction's meeting.

Togtokhsuren, former governor of Uvurkhangai province in central Mongolia, has served as a member of parliament since 2016.

The ex-leader of the MPP parliamentary faction Damdin Khayankhyarvaa was dismissed from his post after he demanded lawmakers who allegedly obtained low-interest loans from a fund aimed at helping small and medium-sized enterprises be brought to justice.

About 20 days ago, reports were made public that some members of the parliament and government and their relatives obtained loans with low interest rates from the fund.

Issues surrounding the fund have become a hot topic in the Asian country this month.
