SEOUL, Nov. 16 (Xinhua) -- South Korea's top nuclear envoy will visit Washington next week to discuss issues on the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and the settlement of lasting peace, Seoul's foreign ministry said Friday.
Lee Do-hoon, special representative for Korean Peninsula peace and security affairs, will make a three-day visit to Washington from Monday to have a meeting with his U.S. counterpart Stephen Biegun. (S.Korea-U.S.-Visit)

MANILA -- The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved a 300-million-U.S. dollar loan to promote sustainable agriculture systems and protect the ecology in the upper and middle reaches of China's Yangtze River.
"ADB's assistance - which benefits the provinces of Guizhou, Hubei, Hunan, Sichuan, and Yunnan, as well as the Municipality of Chongqing - supports the Yangtze River Economic Belt Development Plan. The plan prioritizes ecological protection and the promotion of green development in the longest and one of the most important rivers in the country," ADB said in a statement released on Friday. PHNOM PENH -- Cambodian Minister of Public Works and Transport Sun Chanthol said Friday that the China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) plays an important role in promoting connectivity, which is a key element to boost trade among countries.

SEOUL -- South Korea and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) agreed to continue talks on aviation cooperation after holding the first-ever dialogue on cooperation in the aviation sector Friday, local media reported, citing Seoul's transport ministry.
