QALAT, Afghanistan, Nov. 18 (Xinhua) -- Anti-government militants attacked a security checkpoint in Shinkai district of Afghanistan's southern Zabul province on Sunday and took away 10 policemen to an unknown location after a brief fighting, provincial police chief Mohammad Mustafa Mayar said.
"The Taliban rebels attacked a security checkpoint in Shinkai district early on Sunday. After fighting with the police and killing a policeman, they took away 10 others to an unknown location," Mayar confirmed.
Without providing more details, the official added that investigation had been initiated into the incident.
Taliban militants haven't commented.
