TOKYO, Nov. 19 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks opened higher Monday tracking U.S. shares advancing late last week, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average's rise setting a particularly positive lead.
As of 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average gained 147.11 points, or 0.68 percent, from Friday to 21,827.45.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, added 9.43 points, or 0.58 percent, at 1,638.73.
Miscellaneous product, mining and electric appliance issues comprised those that gained the most in the opening minutes after the morning bell.
