BUCHAREST, Nov. 20 (Xinhua) -- Romania's six new ministers took oath at a ceremony held at the Cotroceni Presidential Palace on Tuesday.

Romanian President Klaus Iohannis administered the oath to the nominated ministers, thus Gabriel Les as minister of national defence,Marius Budai as minister of labour and social justice, Niculae Badalau as minister of economy, Daniel Breaz as minister of culture and national identity, Alexandru Petrescu as minister of communications and information society and Constantin-Bogdan Matei as minister of youth and sports.

The ceremony was also attended by Prime Minister Viorica Dancila, together with some of her cabinet members.

Following the ceremony, the president did not make a speech as usual, but wished the new ministers good luck.

Earlier, Iohannis announced that he had issued the government reshuffle decree, but rejected the proposals for the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Administration and the Ministry of Transport, as they were "inappropriate."

"This reshuffle is a weak solution," he said, stressing that "I still believe that the right solution for Romania would have been and is still the replacement of this government which has created a lot of problems for Romania."

According to the Constitution, the head of state is entitled to refuse a minister proposal only one time, yet the prime minister cannot repeat the same proposal.

The Romanian Social Democratic Party, the main ruling party, announced on Monday a major reshuffle of the government, with eight of the 28-member cabinet being replaced.
