MINSK, Nov. 27 (Xinhua) -- Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko on Tuesday urged member states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) to step up efforts to remove trade obstacles within the union's market.

At a meeting with the heads of governments of the EAEU members, Lukashenko said that four years out of ten had passed for the removal of all obstacles and the formation of common industry markets, but not everything has been achieved as planned.

He said that it is necessary to give impetus to the fight against trade obstacles in the EAEU's market. The Belarusian leader called the creation of common energy markets, including gas transportation, a key element.

The president also said Belarus would not support the proposal to once again extend the terms of the current standards for the distribution of the amounts of import customs duties.

Lukashenko said that otherwise Belarus would immediately be put in an unfavorable position. He urged all relevant parties to make every effort to reach a fair decision.

Established in 2015, the EAEU consists of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia, seeking to optimize the flow of goods and services among its members.
