KAMPALA, Nov. 29 (Xinhua) -- Uganda will host the 2019 Beach Woodball World Cup, a sports official announced here on Thursday.
Mark Kayongo, president of the Uganda Woodball Federation told Xinhua in an interview that the successful bid is proof that the sport is getting better in the country.
"We are the best Woodball playing nation in Africa and have also proved a point at the international level in other continents. This has helped us improve our players and facilities," said Kayongo.
The tournament is scheduled to take place from May 25-31 at Spennah Beach Entebbe, 40km south of the capital Kampala.
Indonesia hosted the first edition of Beach Woodball World Cup in 2017.
