JERUSALEM, Nov. 30 (Xinhua) -- Israeli cyber intelligence company ClearSky said on Friday that it uncovered a worldwide Iranian fake news internet network operating in several languages and countries.

According to a company report, the network includes hundreds of fake social network profiles and 150 websites masquerading as 98 media bodies, and operates in 28 countries and regions using 29 languages by stealing articles from common news websites and editing them to suit Iran's interests.

The network operated mainly in countries which act against Iran, primarily the United States, Israel, Saudi Arabia and Yemen, the report said.

The network's main target is the Arab world, as 40 of the websites were in the Arabic language, it added.

According to the company, websites operating in the United States and Europe focused on criticizing their governments and presenting them as failures and their heads as corrupt and unworthy of their role.

Websites operating in Muslim countries in Africa and Asia focused on presenting Iran's activities in the Muslim world in a positive light.

According to ClearSky, the Iranian network operates an organized group including dozens of reporters and editors who speak various languages, graphic designers, software developers, and social media experts.
